Google Adwords is one of the ways you can gain your website an increase in visitors. Google Adwords is also known as Cost per Click (CPC) advertising or Pay per Click (PPC) advertising.
Google Adwords works by placing an advertisement in the paid listings of the search engines which can be shown on all pages of the search engine and is not affected by your search engine ranking. A Google Adwords advertisement can be show for an unlimited amount of times this is because it does not cost you for your advertisement to be placed it only costs you when your advertisement is clicked upon. When your account is no longer credited your advertisement will not be placed until you credit your account again, however you can choose when you credit your account. You may find that work is seasonal and so you may not wish to have an advertisement in place all year round but when you do want your advertisement shown you will only need to credit your account and your advertisement will be shown on the search engine again.

It might be difficult to plan a Google AdWords campaign for your site if you don’t have the knowledge or the skill for it. It needs certain amount of creativity, foresight, research and analysis along with the use of evolving techniques to be successful in this campaign. When you are not equipped enough to handle the project, your costs per click will go on rising with no subsequent improvement in the traffic to your site. The visibility of your site may go down and you will be left feeling frustrated that the campaign is not giving you the desired results.
In such a case, it makes sense to outsource the Google AdWords campaign to a company which can manage it in a better way. It requires skill and experience to efficiently manage an AdWords account and it can be handled by the company in a better way. You may have to pay the company for managing the campaign, but it will be worthwhile in the long run. Not only will you be required to invest less money in the cost-per-click but also get more benefit from it. Your ad will show up in the first few search pages which will ensure that more people see it. Consequently, it may lead to an increase in sales.

No matter what they’ve been telling you, managing a Google Adwords campaign is no child’s play. Of course it’s not difficult to set up a campaign. Thanks to the very friendly, step-by-step setup process, starting a Google Adwords campaign is indeed so simple that almost anybody can do it in a matter of minutes.
However, setting up a campaign is only half the story. The real challenge lies is making it successful, in profiting from it. And that, believe me, takes a lot more than just a sketchy understanding of the process. Theoretically, as long as a company is willing to pay for traffic, then it should be relatively simple to utilize the interfaces that each of the search engines offer. In practice, however, the nuances associated with managing a profitable Pay-Per-Click program are considerably more complex.

Most Small to Midsize companies have tried using Google Adwords at some point in their marketing efforts. This is because of the high brand familiarity of Google, the widely distributed trial coupons, and the extremely high search market that Google enjoys in most countries including Australia.
But there is a wide difference in how successful these companies have been and whether they continue to advertise on Google for the longterm. This can be a matter of luck as some industries are easier than others but a key way for most marketing departments to really understand what is happening in their Google Adwords account is to create a Google Analytics account and install the tracking code into their website.
