How to attract advertising to my site – 1,000+ legit daily visitors?
I have a patriotic site that rates #1 on Google for many of my pages. I receive over 1,000 visitors/day. It’s #1 out of 2.2 million for patriotic clothing. Always at the top for military searches. (Total 3,582,742 (visits – not page views). All verifiable at sitemeter)
How do I attract/advertise paying advertisers to my site?
I currently earn commission from affiliate programs, but feel my traffic should interest some advertisers.
Edit: search words for google: patriotic clothing

> join google’s adsense – pay per thousand views are more lucrative than pay per clicks and you could be eligible as you have good traffic
> join yahoo’s publisher – if you pay taxes in USA you are eligible; for the rest of the world it is not open
> join clickbank – again, look for pay-per-thousand-impressions advertisers
> and finally, i think you can do some efforts and start your own patriotic fashion line of clothing and monetize on selling your own product
Before going any further with how your website is ranked #1 out of 2.2 million search results at Google, can you provide us the the “keywords” which we can submit as a search query on Google’s search engine in order to bring up your #1 website.
If, in fact, you have that much traffic, you should consider selling ad banners for a nominal fee which in the long run, could add up to quite a bit of money. So, working with your web designer, offer a set of banners which can be customized to future clients, at least in text, for sale to the highest bidder(s).
Good luck!
I’m guessing that the affiliate programs you earn commission from are businesses like Google AdSense and the like.
Have you thought about contacting people who might want to buy some ad space off of you? In addition, you could also have a page link on your site that says “Advertise With Us”?
There are several ways you can earn money from advertising:
1. Join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.

3. Sell advertising for your site directly. This is admittedly a more difficult route for a small business site wanting to earn advertising revenues. But hey, as they say: “no pain, no gain!”
Advertisers are looking for:
1. Number of pageviews and unique visitors
2. Who are your traffic and whether your traffic is who they are looking for.
3. How are you measuring the effectiveness of their campaign – do you have a real time statistics that can show them whether their campaigns are being seen and getting clicks
4. How comparable/realistic are your rates compared to similar websites
More than the traffic numbers, #2 or who your audiences are is the key to attracting advertisers. That is what you need to focus on and think of how to get that information. You can run a survey on your site that will allow you to learn who your core audiences are.
In my website which is an information site targeting small and home based entrepreneurs, advertisers often ask us what percentage of our visitors are just thinking of starting a business and what percentage are already running their business. This information cannot be given by any website traffic statistics software. You have to do surveys.
Prepare a media kit containing information about your audience, your advertising packages, rates, and arguments why it is best to advertise on your website
